Chisholm (van de Reep), Sarah Grace, 54, North Grant, Antigonish Co, passed away peacefully, with many loved ones by her side, at St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish on June 28, 2010 after a courageous ten year battle with breast cancer.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Sarah (Calder) van de Reep.
Sarah was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was willing to try her hand at anything which was evident by her involvement in many organizations. She was a 4H Leader, a founding member of the local Autism Society and long-time member and former regional director of the Liberal Party. Physical fitness was very important to her. She carried out her position as fitness instructor at St. F.X. Aquatic Centre long in to her illness. She loved the farm. Sarah got great pleasure out of going for drives through the Christmas tree lot with Edward and spending time with family and close friends.
Surviving are her husband, Edward; children: Jason, North Grant; Ginette (Richard) Cameron, Saltsprings; Ian, Antigonish; Nicole (Benjamin Cornect), Truro; Matthew, Sydney; Katie, Halifax; Luke, North Grant; grandchildren: Emma, Jessa and Isaac Cameron; brothers and sisters: John (Theresa), Saltsprings; Janet (Martien) Bekkers, Lanark; Fred (Marsha), Fort McMurray; Tom (Ann), Calgary; father and mother in law, Maurice and Evangeline Chisholm, North Grant.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Michael and sister, Margo MacNeil.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00am in St Ninian's Cathedral. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to The Lodge That Gives or VON, Antigonish.
